So nice to look back! So many culinary memories :)

I’m definitely cooking with better seasonings than I used to! Especially more salt. But I have some go-to spice mixes that I use since I’m not the best at thinking of what to put together myself when I’m freeballing and not using a recipe. (Penzey’s Justice is my absolute favorite #1) I think I’m a bit more confident when cooking for others.

So interesting to think about how one’s cooking style changed over the years. I hear you on the minimalism and improv without cookbooks. For years after writing my cookbooks & photographing everything I made, I had cooking fatigue. Now, I’m falling back in love with cooking again. Seems like you & cooking are in a long-term relationship

Loved this, Jess! Love that self affirming intentional cooking approach that you’re in now. Of course ‘now’ wouldn’t be possible without the ‘then’. Such a beautiful , inspiring journey. Thank you so much for sharing-!

Jess what a brilliant post, a day, a time, a place, a culinary snapshot.

So the food in the snowy lands by necessity tends to white in the Pantone colour chart. More rainbow colours in the tropics. Good move to the colour lands Jess. I wonder if you’ll ever need those big coats again.?

Jess, thank you so much for sharing. I’m reading this by candlelight while eating my granola before the sun comes up. A perfect way to ease into the day❤️
