Your life is so exciting! I can barely feed myself most days and am stunned / impressed / just wowed by the thought and prep that has to go into wintering like this. Thanks for the reminder (in a good way) that I am still very much a pansy despite living in Anchorage - can't wait to follow along
I hope you enjoy a meal at Ray's Vietnamese for me!! (I can't think of anywhere else I really liked eating in Anchorage?!?! ha! you know more than me!!)
Peas peas peas. Frozen peas are at least very versatile. I love adding peas to anything random.
I am in awe. My fatigue/executive dysfuntion makes my brain so scrambled these days that sometimes I can't even plan out what I might eat for dinner for a few days, let alone for however long this snowed in period shall be! I look forward to all your inventive creations.
I have never had superiority burgers and i have the book and I've considered making them but always decide its too much! Looking forward to hearing about yours!
I spent a week at Yellowstone in August 1996 with a friend who was working there, and remember hearing about how the park closed in the winter. At the time I assumed all the staff moved out too. I’m in awe that you all are taking this on, it sounds daunting to me...maybe not the inability to go to the market but more the inability to go...anywhere. I guess learning and insight awaits! Culinarily it seems you have a good plan. I ‘’unprofessionally’ freeze lots of veggies that I am getting ready to go use over the next 3-4 months as well! Lists are happening here too :)
